Hi David Gibson Has anyone retro fitted stanchions ? The stanchions can be fitted afterwards as they are fitted after the boat is put together. They are bolted through the hull and deck joint. The one thing you will have to do is to drill out the pop rivets that hold on the plastic fendering to fix the stanhions in place and then refit it afterwards. Regards Simon Papendick J-Star Boat Services.

Hi David, I think they were bolted at the time of build - i.e. before the hull was bonded to the deck. If I were to attempt such I thing, I'd be looking to have a base that allowed the bottom and sides to be secured. I'd bolt the bottom and screw in the sides - using epoxy and a good cauking to be sure the fastenings are well and truely bonded and bedded in place. Best Regards Simon.

Has anyone retro fitted stanchions ? Have tried to contact Hardy but no reply. Looking at boats with them fitted they seem to be just screwed into the sides. Cant see how you can get behind if you wanted to bolt on. Any ideas? David 2726
