* Hi all, my 1989 pilot sank last year and since it's recovery and subsequent insurance payout I've been doing what's turned out to be an extensive refit, new decks and a million problems being sorted. There was a dodgy repair the the back of the keel which I've just ground back to find the shoddy glass repair work was hiding a mild steel 'box' around the back end of the keel, with four screws all the way through into the bilge. There was a thick layer of filler over the whole thing under the glass. I'm guessing this steel keel box isn't original? I'm planning on removing it as water is seeping out anyway.

Cheers
