Hi Clive. Having just spent a couple of months (on and off) in a marina in our Mariner 25, with shore power and a week on the north Broads on a hire boat (without shore power) here, in no particular order, is what seemed important.
Black water tank
Inverter for phone charger etc
Diesel heater - cold morning and evening
3/4 seasons sleeping bags
Decent cockpit cover and cockpit table
Ability to leave berths made up
Comfortable berth cushions
Somewhere to eat/sit when too cold to sit in cockpit
Fridge that doesn't drain too much power
LED lights (see above)
System for charging batteries

What we did find on the Broads (very busy!!) was that a lot of moorings were remote from shops/pubs - so being self sufficient helps.
Good luck! Tony

Have you considered a 27? they will have all the kit you need pretty much as standard.

I've just sold my lovel Hardy Plot 20SE "Felice" because I need a bigger for my wife and I to use and stay on for a couple of weeks at a time on the Norfolk Broads where I was brought up and first learned to sail 60+ years ago! O'm in the process of negotiating to buy a Hardy 25 which will have a brand new 40hp hi-thrust outboard but the boat is in "standard trim" and with little extra kit so we will need to add the following, all of which must be able to be approved for a Boat Safety cert:

Shore power connection, including consumer unit, battery charging and several 13A sockets
Fridge (I already have a new dual 12/240 volt voltage one that we need to fit)
Hot water system., preferably both to sink and to the heads
Shower/shower tray
Heating system of some kind (could just be small oil-filled radiators plus background 250W airing cupboard heater)
Inverter? not sure....
Solar charger? not sure

Any advice or suggestions to make a Hardy 25 comfortable for spending a couple of weeks at any time of year will be very welcome!

Clive Edwards
