* Russ

I have a spare two part hoop and two stainless steel sliders off a Hardy Fisher 20. We have a cover at the back of the wheel house and will never need our back cover frame. The only part missing is the piece from the roof to the frame which will be shorter on a Pilot and could very easily me made to suit your requirements in matching diameter aluminium tube. Please get in contact on 07836 772284 or rmoynan@aol.com. I attach photos Items near Exeter Devon.

Hi Ross
Please find picture of river pilot with cockpit cover. The frame is simply round aluminium tube with two bends. The bottom ends have fixing plates which attach to two sliding tracks fixed to each side of the cockpit. These plates have a simple swivel fixing. The frame is held in place by a single pole one end fixed to the cabin. The other end had a small spike which located in the middle top of the aluminium frame. This pole had some adjustment so you could make the canopy tighter.
The sliding tracks simply allow you to move the frame into a more convenient position when the cover is not being used. I rarely had the cover off completely. These tracks are available and I think an earlier post provided a source. My frame and canopy lasted for a long time. You have a choice of PVC or acrylic covers. My choice would be PVC - cheaper. Speak to the cover manufacturer to find the material dimensions.
This frame is very simple and if you cannot find a pattern. (I no longer have the boat) You could probably draw one up your self. from the shape of the cabin frame and then get quotes. This could be cheap and cheerful (aluminium) and more sophisticated and expensive (Stainless steel).It is however a long piece of tubing which might be difficult to source. Hope this is clear if not let me know. We can speak on the phone. If you send me your email address I can send larger photos. Regards Keith

* Evening all, I’ve just recently joined to see if I can find who can supply a frame for the covers / canopy’s on a hardy river pilot 20.

I have a sloping one currently but want the square type that I can just zip a side out and jump on, I’ve found a place in Cornwall who can supply the cover but not the frame.

Does anyone know who supplies them or could email me some photos of your frame and perhaps I’ll make one

Thanks
Russ
