Hi Malcolm, I would suggest you photograph every bit left of the destroyed bulb and fittings and look for makers name and then start searching the internet and put more pictures up of what’s left .
It looks like it overheated due to being left on for a long time or too high voltage applied.

* I require a new bulb and fitting for the search light on my Hardy Fisher 20, built in 1984. The bulb disintegrated and damaged the plate it was fixed to. I would be happy to buy a replacement search light of the same type
