In our Seawings 234 we have 2 bilge pumps in need of attention/replacement. The bilges are divided into three sections by two reinforcing ribs running fore and aft which I think is a Hardy standard. One pump is in the port side section, the other is in the central section directly beneath the engine, which will make it hard to remove, I know that, rubbish permitting, water can flow through the small openings between the sections but when I fit new pumps is there any reason why I can't just fit one port and one starboard?
Your thoughts please.
