The formula only apply to displacement speed .

Hull speed in knots varies between 1.34 and 1.51 x square root of waterline length in feet, the exact figure depending on the hull shape.

Hello all
As the year starts to move forward it won’t be long until King Bear comes out of hibernation for its usual maintenance, scrub up and polish prior to launching.
Thinking about places to visit this year got me thinking about speed and distance. With a DF70 on the stern I can get a good turn of speed however every vessel has a recommended maximum hull speed and to that end I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the Family Pilot 20 is. There were obviously later changes to the hull design but mine is a 1986 model with the stubby keel.
Any information greatly appreciated.
