Decided to have a trip from Christchurch to Lee on Solent to check out the USS Harry S Truman. A bit late leaving so against the tide through Hurst Castle and up the Solent at speeds between 10-16 Knots. Enjoyed the trip up the Solent passing close to Cowes then on to investigate the mighty ship, didn’t have long as wanted to get back before low tide. Heading back along the Solent with the tide was a breeze sat at 18-22 knots and a max of 27.9 on the approach to Hurst Castle. Arrived back safe just over 4hrs and a total of 52 nmi my longest trip to date and roughly worked out fuel used to be 62 ltrs. Evinrude E-Tec 75 ran like a dream have been very impressed over the first summer using it.
