Hi Edward, and thanks for your reply that is exactly what I had in mind. I did send a thank you but i see it hasn't been put up on the forum. Perhaps I pushed the wrong button. My Bimini is due to be done at the end of this month. Thanks again Steve.

Good afternoon Steve, Although not for a Regatta and certainly not a Bimini, I made a lightweight cotton sun awning to fit my Bosun. As you suggest, the front edge fastens onto the back end of the wheelhouse, in my case by way of 'Lift-the-Dot' clips onto the studs used for the full cockpit canopy. The awning then stretches back over the cockpit and fastens onto the raised hoop support, which is also there for the full canopy. (The full canopy has, of course, been removed.) The awning is held in place over the hoop by a split tube across the full width. That is made of the same cloth and folds around the tube and closes tight with Velcro. Light adjustable guy lines then go from each aft corner and loop over the mooring cleats on the quarters. All sides and edges are reinforced with light upholstery webbing that also carries the s/s rings that fasten the guys to the awning. All is finished off with scalloped sides and back to give a jaunty 'African Queen' look, but it works and is simple to put up. Sorry, no photo, but I hope these notes are useful. Best wishes, Edward Cartner.

Has anyone made or had made a Bimini for the aft deck of a Regatta? The front edge would lock on to the turnbuckles at the backend of the wheelhouse then supported by a hoop attached to the sliders already in the aft deck and tensioned by bungee chords each side. Has anyone done it this way? Steve.
