Hi again Philip, Two more things to add : As regards Wilks, in Essex, as Simon Kidd has suggested - they are great and if you want to contact Jeff Webber (Sales & Customer support) he may remember me from the London Boat Show, where he went through the complete range of marine fendering that they produce for me as I was after repairing a section of my Family Pilot's transom rubber. Just mention the Hardy Owners Club. He can send you a brochure and samples. Contacts are: Mob: 07834 551916 email: jeff@wilks.co.uk Landline: 01621 869609. website: www.wilks.co.uk In addition Simon Papendick who worked for John Hardy building the earlier Hardy craft contacted me to say the following: Hi Marie The fender was put on the boat after heating it up in a barrel of boiling water so you could fit the fender to the boat and it was a two man job and you had to be quick doing before it cooled down. Regards Simon Papendick

Thanks very much for the speedy responses. It has the look of having been pre-shaped in a single piece - particularly at the bow, where it wraps around very neatly. Is that likely?

I think Hardy should bring back the Fishing 17 for use as a Picnic, Fishing and general day boat and a Luxury Tender Option for the 65!! I just wanted to get that off my Chest, Oliver, - just in case you read this ;-) Cheers Si.

Hi Phillip. Have you tried lookings at the Wilks marine website www.wilks.co.uk they do a whole range of fender strips used within the industry and hopefully have a replacement for yours. I've used them before - they can send samples to compare. If you still have trouble, Hardy might be able to look up the original supplier for you, perhaps.. Best Regards Simon.

Hi Philip The two Simons (Kidd & Papendick) are your best bet. In case they do not see this post right away, I will contact them for you. Simon K is a marine surveyor as well as owner of a Hardy 25 and Simon P used to build the earlier Hardys for John Hardy. Watch this space.
