Thanks Marie and good luck Clive - several similar are available from various internet sites. I find Camping and Caravanning shops have lots of bits that are suitable for boats at much cheaper prices than Chandlers! Penny

* We cut the lid for the tray from an off-cut from our local double-glazing firm, then added a wooden edge on the reverse. Will attempt to add photos!

Hi Penny, If you get the time to do this, do you think that you could post a picture of the results of your tray modification? I had the same problem myself and i should think that there are other Pilot owners out there whose boats are of an age that their cutlery trays have perished (as did mine). Many thanks to you, Regards, Marie HOC Ed.

Thanks Penny, we'll keep looking. Another idea we had was find a suitable large/standard kitchen cutlery tray and cut two sections off to fit. Clive

We did this last year. Similar replacement trays are available at camping/caravanning shops or on the internet. We managed to find one that fitted the hole left by the broken tray and seated it on flexible mastic. However, none of the trays had divisions in the same place as the original so for the wooden cover to fit it will need to be adapted underneath or replaced. We decided to use a piece of thick plastic with a wood edge underneath and used the original knob. We're happy with the result and certainly an improvement on the original tray which had perished on the corners.

I don't suppose anyone out there happens to know where to find a replacement plastic galley tray that sits behind the cooker unit on a Family Pilot do they? Ours is starting to disintegrate a little. An image search in Dearest Google has so far failed to locate even a decent look-alike... Thankee! Clive
