Thanks Guys, very helpful. Unfortunately it looks as though the bottom half is missing from mine! I guess a new one is called for. Martin

Ahoy Kenny, I've seen ads for those, but never seen one actually fitted. Seems a good plan though. Have you fitted one ? Marie

* Martin, I was looking at this additional safety device. I have on a few occasions forgot to turn off gas bottle after leaving marina. Valve fits between regulator and appliance. Will protect from any leakage from supply or cooker. Cleese automatic gas cut of valve, see photo. It detects any drop or higher than normal gas pressure. Shuts off supply, can be reset manually after checking problem. Works on Butane or Propane. Kenny

* Sorry Martin I'll try this picture instead as that other one is too compressed. Marie.

Ahoy Martin Does it have a little window at the base with fluid in it? If so it is a bubble tester. It looks different from my own one, but the idea is, that you press it down for a few seconds at the top and if you do not see bubbles appear in the fluid bit, then the line is safe and does not have a leak anywhere. If you see bubbles don't use the cooker and check the whole line for damage. All the best, Marie

* I'm in the process of renewing and updating the butane gas system on my River Pilot. The flexible tube which connects to the gas bottle is then connected to this gadget before joining the copper tube which leads to the cooker. I assumed it was some kind of safety valve but pressing it doesn't appear to make any difference! Does anyone know what it is - and how it works? Many thanks, Martin
