Thank you for your idea. I used an acid etch primer the first time I did it and it worked fine for a couple of years. Then it came off and we started again. The second lot of acid etch primer was useless and didn't last days. You are the second person to recommend Halfords acid etch so may be off there tomorrow. Will let you know how it all turns out in the end.

Hi Roy Yes, I've had this trouble. I primed my tabs with acid etch primer (I think you can get it from Halfords. Then once dry I used an antifouling primer on that - then antifouled over the top. So far so good...it's all still attached and has survived 50 hours use.

Has anyone experience of using successfully a bonding agent to ensure that antifoul stays attached to the stainless steel trim tabs?
