* Thanks Ed, Some do get it wrong !!! Always a good watch in peak summer, but what makes the river/broads above the bridge so nice is that as the hire boats get bigger and bigger very few can get through making it very nice cruising area. Peter

Martin, you will have to lend this poor chap one of your hard hats !!!! I see what you mean Peter. We have something like this where I am, and it is critical that you position yourself dead centre - that is if there is enough height in the first place - especially after all of this rain. I am sorry that I cannot help with this particular bridge. Good luck and steady as she goes. HOC Ed.

* Hi martin, Thanks for the tip. Potter bridge is a very small arch and there should be enough room but I have measured the air draft of the navigator and it is 1.85 metres to the current water line. I have been up to the bridge over the weekend and the water has been high due to all of the rain!!! clearance over the past few days has been at 1.75 metres at near low water so I will keep on checking. For those who don't know the bridge here's a shot of it. Many thanks and regards, Peter

* Hi. Peter. If I'm encountering bridges on my bosun. I lower the mast and measure the air draught, lash a bamboo pole ford. At the measured air draught. Lashed so that it pivots rather than snaps if not enough room. Extra care needed if coming down tide to keep the speed down. Regards. Martin.

Hi Simon, Many thanks for the reply. I was sure it would but just needed to check. The boat has no light mast so that shouldn't be a problem. Regards, Peter

Hi Peter, Having lived and worked at Potter for number of years and having built a number of Navigators over my time at Hardy Marine. Apart from the light mast on the cabin roof, you should have enough air draft between the wheelhouse roof and the bridge. If you are unsure just motor slowly up to the bridge and gauge it for yourself. Kind Regards Simon Papendick

Hi all, New to the HOC and have just bought a Navigator 18. I was just wondering if any one here has one on the broads and taken it through Potter bridge ??? Just looking at a trip up to Martham and Horsey. I have been unable to find a clearance height on the net. Many thanks Peter
