Hi Henry, The first course of action should be to try and compound and then polish the boat with G3 & then G7 and see if this give you the result you want before going down the repainting route as this will result in having a negative result on resell value. Hi All, I have a Motorsailer 20 that we use on the Themes and enjoy day trips out. It has been standing for 10 years out of the water and last year we managed to bring her back to life and put her back in the water. Over the years it has gained a few screw holes in superstructure and the gelcoat is looking a bit dull. I have been told you can paint over the Gelcoat? I thought it would require a ton of sanding and just wouldn't be worth the amount of time necessary. I am not seeking a top-notch professional job, but rather one good enough not to effect resale value negatively. Has anyone else heard of not sanding, just using surface preparation/de-glosser on the gelcoat then painting right over that with epoxy based primer? If so, should I try and fill the minor crazing that exists with epoxy and filler prior to painting? Any information on this would be helpful as I've been told re-gelcoating a boat will cost a lot, to the point it might be cheaper to buy a new boat...... Thanks Henry
