Hi Roger, I decided to buy a Fox Rod Rest for my Pilot. It is really good and will clamp to the sides easily. You can adjust and rotate it, and it will take all rods. The rest at the front is rubber, and the rear rest has a grip lock which will suit most rod handles. It's quite quick to fit and remove, but solid once it is on. Mine also has a threaded head to allow a bite alarm to be fitted if you want to. I got the rest from Marc of Mark II Angling who writes our Fishing column in the Club's magazine. They are in Crayford, but you can buy Fox stuff almost anywhere. Maybe Marc will give you a HOC members discount - ask him. Tel: 01322 55 45 45 or email williams933@aol.com All the best, Marie HOC Ed.

Hi Roger, We had a couple fitted to the River Pilot in Guernsey, they were the removable type - fitted onto the top edge of the outboard well - one port, one starboard, and that seemed to work ok for us! Best Regards Simon.
