Hi Simon / Ron,

I would appreciate any more information regarding the Canopy Maker or if Sussex Trimmers did manage to provide the ā€˜Uā€™ shaped rail. Appreciate this was 10 long years ago but I live in hope.

Cheers,

Hi Simon Many thanks for the reply. I've been chasing this around for a few weeks and Jill from Sussex trimmers seems to be able to help on both the canopy rail and also the screw adjuster plate which I thought I'd renew. I've made a note of Sheridan Marine and If I have any problems I'll give them a call. Thanks again. Ron

Hi Ron (Sorry, I've been without Internet for a few weeks!!). I've just had a new Bar made up for my Navigator (the original bar was long lost by a previous owner). A canopy maker made it out of Stainless Steel nice job - but expensive - I'm sure most other places would be cheaper!! The Stainless looks nice, isn't too heavy and is tough.. I also renewed the canopy track sliders and added screw adjuster plates to allow me to easily adjust the canopy height and slide the bar forward when under way - all very neat.. The Canopy slider parts are the original Hardy fitment and came from Sheridan Marine.. Best Regards Simon.

Hi Clive, Many thanks for your reply. I might have this sorted out I hope. The rail I was after is the 'u' shaped one that supports the canopy. I rang Hardy's who say they no longer supply parts for Pilot's and that all their specs have been given over to Sussex Trimmers. I've rung them and sent a spec over as well as a number of digital photographs to see what they can offer. I also have a local blacksmith as a backup who says that should Sussex Trimmers not be able to supply one then he can match the existing frame in either aluminium or stainless steel. So with a little bit of luck I might be okay. Once again thanks for your reply. Ron

Hi Ron, Do you mean the support rails on the hull, that support the, er, main canopy support rail, or the main canopy "U" shaped support rail itself? If the latter and you have all the fittings, could try taking the old rail as a template to your local stainless steel workshop (wherever!) and ask them to copy it - basically "just" a bent tube. Your local chandlery may be able to suggest a good engineering workshop to try. Otherwise, you maybe already have the best info from Hardy by the time you get this! Hope helps! Clive

Hi guys, I have a 20' Hardy Pilot SE and need to purchase a new canopy support rail and wondered if anyone in HOC knew where I could obtain a new one. I'm just about to ring Hardy's to pick their brains but thought I'd fire of an e-mail to members on the chance that someone out there has already fitted one in the past.
