I have a Hardy 18 MS which had a solid roof fitted. It is now delaminating. Where can I find suitable material to replace the roof with a concertina type roof which I could open when the weather is fine?

Thank you.

John Clark

I am currently using poles from a caravan awning. Would you be willing to post at my expense? I live in Scotland so travel is limited. Thanks Gordon

Hi Derek. Are you wanting to fill in the Sunroof of a Navigator / 18MS or are trying to replace the soft top of a 17PH / 537? (they have the big canvas roof that when dropped can make an open wheel house). Years and years ago, Hardy Marine made a moulded conversion kit to convert a 17PH/537 to a Navigator /18MS roof, it consisted of a Navigator roof moulding with two "Wedge" shaped infills. I would imagine Hardy still have the Navigator roof moulding, perhaps they could make one? A little work laminating up a pair of Wedges would have you in business. Be aware, the roof does make a difference to the "tenderness" of the boat to roll (The Navigator that is). If a Navigator / 18MS then covering the sunroof with Perspex (White or Clear) has been done.. Best Regards Simon.

I have the metal hoop from a Navigator 18 Cockpit cover available. If anyone would like it and can arrange collection from Teignmouth in Devon then it is available for free. Please e-mail bob.kethro@btinternet.com
