Mike.
Have you had any luck chasing this?
My only advice is this case would be to keep the roof as light as possible. The 17Ph was the original version of the Navigator and as far as I know, pretty stable. The Navigator has quite a big moulding added in the form of the wheelhouse roof, a little more wheelhouse sides, and more glass thus is heavier, and is certainly more tender - i.e rolls when you board/ crew move about. It would be desirable to keep the roof weight low - as this roof weight is the one area I think the Navigator suffers. Then - silly owners like me add a Stainless steel mast and radar reflector and add more weight high up and and...err....keep it light if you can.
Cheers
Simon.

I have just bought a 1980 Navigator 17, and would be interested in perhaps getting a hard top for it!
I know this post is several years old but perhaps someone can advise.
Thanks,
Mike

I have recently made a mold for a fiberglass roof for my hardy 17 which came out brilliantly, if anyone is still looking to replace the roof or need any help with the mould feel free to drop me a line. i am in the prosess of makeing moulds for a cockpit interior (dash) and a cieling dash to mount instramunts above the windows.
