I added 2 new xtra batteries in the bow (2 X 100 Ah) as ballast. Works fine for me...

Hi Steve, Thanks for your advice. Haven't added any ballast yet but think this may be the way to go. Will have a go and report back. Simon.

Hi Simon, I've got a big bag of sand in the bows of my 25. I've added a few sacks of chippings to level her off along the waterline (total weight is probably 150-200kg). Although this works it is very bulky and the equivalent weight in scrap lead or iron would be best. I'm thinking of doing this and perhaps wrapping in sacking to protect hull from damage or staining. Steve.

Hi, We have just bought a 1985 Regatta with 50HP outboard. She sits quite high in the water. We have been advised to put sand bags in the lockers to bing the bow down. Can anybody advise if this is correct? will normally have three adults and one child on board, all relatively "lightweight"! Any advice welcomed with thanks! This is our first boat which we have just bought and we love her......will join the owners club soon! Simon.
