Hi Hector
It might be difficult to say without being able to scrape the antifouling off around the region of the indentation. If the gel coat was overly stressed you would maybe get star crazing as you say. This would be hard to examine with the boat still on the trailer.
If the boat is in good condition, the indentation might be a bargining point. Any damage could be repaired but it might be worth getting a surveyor to look at it for peace of mind. The hulls are strong which would be in your favour. Also worth checking is the condition of the engine and trailer after sitting so long. The engine is the most expensive item potentially.
If the trailer has been used in salt water and not maintained well it could be another expense.
What is the canopy like? A new one could be at least £500.
I have a roller trailer for my Pilot and I think it is a brilliant job. Much better than the bunk trailer with my old Hardy.
Good luck with your search and let us know if you have any more questions.
Cheers, Andy

The best advice would be to get a marine surveyor to look at it. I would be interested in what he would say.

Hi folks
Im seriously looking for a hardy 20 and have found one that has been sitting unused on its roller coaster trailer for the past 8 yrs! should this long term pressure concentrated on such a small area of hull over this period have caused any lasting damage or stresses? As far as i can tell the hull has a slight indentation around the area sitting on the rollers but nothing alarming and no signs of stress cracking! Any advice would be appreciated (its a 1988 hull)
