Jonny Lynn tel 0876 542398 who used to work for Irish Spars as their main canvas designer started up on his own last year as www.boatcovers.ie. He has done a number of tonneau covers for me and I do know that he has just finished making a canopy for a Hardy 20 in Donegal.

I had a cover made by Irish Spars though not for a Hardy and I found them very helpful, an excellent cover made to my /their unique design.and made fitted on time.

Hi Andy, I'm sorry that you thought the price of the cover from Irish Spars and Rigging was "eye watering" but the "estimate" you we given over the phone included a lot of extra's eg s/steel bar and fittings, total zip out panels, window covers for inside and out, engine well system to stop drafts and top quality material with rot-proof thread, a full fitting service and guarantee etc etc etc. If you would like us to come and look at the boat and give a free proper quotation for a design that would suit your needs, I would be more than happy to do so.I understand that cost is an important factor but having many satisfied customers I feel that usually a good quality job out ways a cheap one everytime. If I can be of any further assistance to you or your fellow members please do not hesitate to contact me on 028 97512830 or by e-mail. Many thanks for your interest. Nigel Allen (managing director Irish Spars and Rigging Ltd)

Hi Iain Thanks for the info. What material did you opt for and could you give me an idea of how much it cost please? Do you have any photo's of your boat with the new cover handy? Many thanks Andy

I'd also be keen to hear if anyone has purchased an Acrylic Canvas cover 'off the peg' from Suffolk Trimmers. I'm just wondering what the quality and fit of this is like. Cheers Andy

I need a new cover for my Pilot. Irish Spars and Rigging have been recommended.I have contacted them and although the cover sounds great, the price is 'eye watering'. I have contacted Paul Molyneaux at Sketrick for a quote but this is an unknown quantity. Can any Irish Hardy owners recommend anyone? Even a cover maker across the water? I am looking to get a good one and don't mind spending a bit (within reason) on something I could be looking at for 10 years. Cheers Andy
