Antifouling Propeller

From Nigel Garbett (No. Guest) 21 Jan 08

I have a Hardy 20ft Motor Sailer with a YANMAR GM20 18 hp diesel driving a 3 bladed prop. I have her out every year for bottom scrub and prime/antifoul etc, I also clean the prop etc ready for protection. To-date (3 yrs)I have never found a coating which - stays on and protects the prop. I snorkel at least four times a season to scrap and remove growth/barnacles etc any ideas please.

I use two coats of International hard anti-fouling for aluminium propellors over two coats of primer and find that lasts on the prop of my Yamaha 10 hp.

Has any body had experience in using Propshield on their propellors especially the low revs ones found on the Hardy Motor Sailors. It understood that you heat the prop-up before applying Propshield if so were the results good. Many thanks in keen anticipation.
