I found a HIN on a plate behind the board in the heads, that covers the wiring and fuses etc. Additionally, there appears to be a sticker in the outboard well. I'm referring to a Pilot SE

Hi Derek,
We’re no.3166 and was built in 1998.
Ours is a Pilot SE.
Differences between the SE and the Family Pilot are a planing hull, sliding windows in the wheelhouse, galley under the passenger seat and the white/blue hull colour.

Derek
Unless it's pre-1972, the boat should have an HIN (Hull Identification Number) engraved into the starboard outside of the transom. The decode is at https://www.bateswharf.co.uk/news/what-is-a-hin-number/ . Apparently, there is a second HIN hidden somewhere in the hull, but I'm not sure why it is hidden.

Having just bought a Hardy 20;family I would love to know its age. I know from the plate below the helm that its hull number is 2999 so has anyone got a hardy with a hull number near that. I know it’s somewhere around 2993 ish to 2000 because of its colour. Photo below.
