Our 234 has a 130hp diesel engine driving a Volvo 290DP leg. The engineer working on the engine reports that it will reach 2000rpm which is peak torque but won't go much beyond without overheating. Max Horsepower is reached at 3250. Max speed achieved is 15 knots. Various possible causes are being investigated but overheating aside I am wondering what the maximum speed should be.
I know from this website that the 234 hull profile is unique to that boat so comparisons with other models are not really valid, so I am asking 234 owners to share details of their engines and performance. Thanks.
