Thanks Keith
For some unknown reason I never thought of tents.
I’m off to investigate.

Regards
Robert.

Hi robert. When stitching canopies the the manfufacturers should use a thread that expands when wet. Particularly important with PVC canopies which can wick water through the stitching. However this may fail and get old.
I suggest you source a seam sealant as used in tents. Seam sealant with silicone may be better but may depend on the canopy material (acrylic or PVC?). Alternatively and more commonly a polyurethane sealer. However this may depend on whether and how often you fold away the canopy and application may have to be repeated. Bit of trial and error. Hope this helps. Keith

Hi all
Hope you are all enjoying this fine boating weather.
However on the west coast of Scotland we have been getting our almost usual quota of rain which unfortunately has been making its way through some of the stitching at the top of one of my canopy side panels. Every year I waterproof with Renovo and it works well, so I thought I would work some into the stitching using a paint brush but alas has not helped.
The canopy is only a few years old and the stitching is complete with no gaps so I am wondering if anybody has any suggestions of a product that I could try.

Kind regards
Robert
