Hi Mark, I recently fixed a friends bow thruster it was a thermal fuse which was situated close to the brush gear under the brush cover on the motor this was not a VETUS bow thruster. The feed to the control panel came from this thermal fuse to a lighter fuse if I remember.
If you are not too sure of what you are about get an auto/marine electrician to sort it.
Regards
Steve.

If your thruster was factory fitted, or not if the separate battery for it is forward, the main ‘fuse’ will be a resettable trip mounted by the battery or adjacent the thruster motor. The small fuse you found is just for the control circuit but the bow thruster protection is a trip unit in the range of 80-150 amperes with a reset switch on the trip.

We appear to have no power to our Vetus bow thruster control as it doesn’t switch on. The small aux fuse on the board looks ok. Does anyone know where the main bow thruster fuse is likely to be on a Hardy 305?
