Hi Douglas,
My name is Simon Papendick and I worked at Hardy Marine between 1983 and 1990 and which family Pilot model do you have, as there were the original family Pilots which had a deep keel and the later models which had very little keel if they were fitted with sterndrives. The outboard models had a keel that came down from the bottom of the hull about a foot and the sterndrive models had a couple of inches of keel.

Kind Regards

* I have just bought a trailer for my Pilot (Which is afloat) and would like to find out the measurement from the bottom of the stubby keel up to where it meets the hull. This is to allow me to set up the trailer in advance if necessary, to avoid the keel hitting the angled cross bar between the roller sets at the back of the trailer. A long time spent searching the web has not produced any drawings or indication of dimensions.
Would anyone be willing to help by putting a tape measure to their keel?
