My Seawings 194 has been on a drying mooring for 10 years with no issues. There’s a pilot next door as well.

I have a potential new member looking at purchasing a Hardy Fisher 20 but before he commits to buying the boat, he has posed a question:

"we are currently thinking of buying a Hardy Fisher 20, but where we are intending to keep it is on a drying out mooring. The current owners have always kept it on a swinging mooring, so are unable to comment on the boat;s suitability for a drying out mooring.
I would like to ask if any of your members have ever successfully kept a Hardy Fisher 20 on a drying out mooring, as it does not have bilge keels.
If we buy the boat we would obviously join the club, but I would appreciate it if this question could be asked asap so we can get back to the vendors before they sell to someone else"

If anyone can advise, then I will go back to him with any (caveated) responses.

many thnaks
