Thanks Steve, I have tried Repower. None in stock (despite the add) and no information from the States as to when they might expect a new consignment. I am trying Marine Solutions who are advertising Recons on ebay but?????

Hi Colin, I'm no expert on internal combustion engines but here are my thoughts...
If one cylinder is low on pressure this could be, perhaps: valve seating to cylinder head, a cylinder head gasket problem, piston ring/bore damage.
You mentioned spark plug damage. Has the plug been hit by something in the bore? Or it it the thread between the head and the plug that is not sealing?
When you say the engine has been disassembled is it just the head(s) removed or has the piston and conn rod been removed and examined for broken rings.
Should be possible to air test cylinder head for valve sealing/spark plug sealing.
Hope you get it sorted! Tony

I have a 1993 Seawings 254 with a Volvo 434A V6 petrol engine. A couple of weeks ago I managed to "blow" a cylinder. Pressure test shows 5 at 150 psi and one at 90.
Stripped but other than a damaged spark plug everything else looks fine???????
Any suggestions?
My mechanic has said that putting it back as is would be asking for trouble but.
New and recon long blocks are not available and new is not an option.

I will appreciate any suggestions or comments. being a boat owner, I am used to abuse and ridicule
