Charlie sorry my response is so late.
Recently I encountered exactly the same problem with my Hardy Fishing 24 with the Volvo AD41. After very expensively overhauling turbo, fuel pump and injectors as well as replacing fuel filters etc finally tracked the problem down to completely blocked (with oil residues?) air filter !! Perhaps if we had only checked this thoroughly to begin with might have saved a lot of expense.
Hope you have now sorted ?

Morgan

No idea personally but try posting on the ybw motor boat forum, lots of knowledgeable guys regularly on there including volvo specialists.

My fishing 24 has a problem. Over a period of two seasons, it took longer and longer to get the hull to break out and plane. Eventually she would not break out at all. I suspected that the turbo might be the problem on the AD41 turbo diesel. I had the turbo removed cleaned and serviced and cleaned the exhaust.
Despite this there was no improvement. The engine when not in gear will rev to maximum rpm easily.
When under load the revs will not rise above 1400rpm, and there is a lot of carbon appearing on the surface of the water, My local engineer thinks something might be binding in the drive leg but really has no fixed idea. Can anyone help?

Charlie
