Thanks for all the replies
Renamed 2/3rds of boat today, as cannot get to the port front side until next weekend, so rear and starboard say one name and port says old name.

Gave the shower a try today, not very roomy for slightly rotund gents like myself!

Hello Richard and welcome to the Hardy owners club.
A very nice looking Hardy indeed.
If you haven't already, have a look at the spring issue of our magazine number 133. A fine article by Clive Ffitch on renaming your boat. All about some guy called King Neptune!
Wishing you calm seas and warm sunshine.
Kind regards
Robert

* Hi Richard.

A nice looking boat the H27 - one of the prettiest Hardy's built in my opinion - I remember being on Boat No 1 at the boatshow Launch - she had an all blue hull and the rare two cabin layout with starboard side helm(called a 274) (only and very very small number of two cabin boats were built - all in 1992/3 I think. All others are single cabin 272's.
I'd love a twin-engined 274 example - but alas such a beast was never built.

She'll be far different from the Sprint - but a great boat (The Sprint is a gem too). We started with Hardy's years ago, moved to Fairlines (Sunfury and then Targa 33), then sail, then all sorts, 44's Motoryacht etc, now living near the boat so back with Hardy (Twin Engined 25).

Enjoy her.

Best Regards

Simon

Hi Richard,
Looks a fine looking boat, not many 27s around I believe - only around 25 built I think???

We have a soft spot for the 27, if we ever upgraded from a Pilot 20. There is a long interesting and useful article "Second Look" in the online mag Motorboat Owner - just download back copy from website - from April 2015.

Also on the HOC website (here!) in the Members' Area, there is a draft copy of the original Hardy 27 Owners' Manual that may also be useful.

Happy boating!
Clive

* I have just posted my first question and realised I have not introduced myself.
We bought the Hardy 27 2 weeks ago on a whim really, no planning involved at all or research or in fact anything remotely sensible, liked the look of it, knew the guy who was selling it so bought it!

This is only our 2nd boat, first was a Fairline Sprint petrol which we had for over 6 years, good reliable/fast machine, liked its fuel though.

We are renaming it Joon, previous name was Shemi and first owner called it Alvina.
Alvina must have been its first name for many years as its clearly visible still, whereas the name Shemi came off and is pretty much invisible.
