Simons, thanks ever so for the very prompt reply. I guessed as much and I kind had come to the same conclusion that I could use the all-round white as an anchor light and fit a new steaming light. What a great site this. Phil.

Hi Phil. The Nav lights were an optional extra on the Navigators, and over the years some boats have had all sorts fitted - thus your setup. I see also sorts on boats fitted - this week I've surveyed four boats and only one had the correct fitment of lights, and they didn't operate!! Indeed, you are correct, 225 degrees for the steaming light, to be used in conjunction with the aft light and port and starboard lights. I believe at the size of the Navigator you could also use only the all-round white - though this is clearly less satisfactory - the more lights you show, the more you stand out - that's the name of the game at night. If it were me, I'd fit a new steaming light for use with the nav lights, and then wire the existing all round white for use when anchoring. The later Hardy made Navigator masts allowed the fitment of both a steaming light and anchor light. If yours is a Stainless steel mast you could probably have a stainless steel fabricator modify it for you. Best Regards Simon.

Hi Phil, The navigation light on the short mast on the cabin roof should be a 225% light, if it is different then the mast is not one fitted by Hardy marine. Regards Simon Papendick Former hardy marine employee

Hi, I have recently purchased a Navigator and am confused about the Nav lights fitted. It seems to have the correct port / starboard lights, an all-round white on the mast and a stern light. My understanding it the mast light shouldn't be all-round if a stern light is fitted and should be a 225° forward mast light, or I shouldn't have a stern light. Just wondered what is fitted as standard, has mine been modified? Also what do people do about anchor lights?
