Hi Rob,
Currently I have the biter end tied to the bow cleat. I'll be installing an anchor onto the H25 - this I suspect will be a D ring in the locker - again - tied on.
Always use rope or a cuttable cord - never shackles and carabinas etc - they can be near impossible to release under load.

Yes, I did mean to attach the strop from the trailer winch.
Where the two bolts go through into the chain locker, after the nut there is at least 30mm of thread to put something with a ring on, followed by a washer and a nut. I would then attach a carbine hook or similar onto this.

Sounds a good idea but you might have to get something specially made by a S/S fabricator; I've don't recall seeing anything in a chandlery. I'm not sure it is a towing loop on the stem; it doesn't look strong enough for towing. I assumed that for trailer Hardys it was to attach the strop from the trailer winch (perhaps that's what you mean) or for larger Hardys, a fitting for a bow fender.

I may look for something that will fit over the two bolts that come into the chain locker from the towing loop, then put a washer and nut on each bolt. This will be the other side of the towing loop as per the next picture above.

I have all chain, secured to a D-shackle in the chain locker with a short piece of line, for cutting in an emergency

I keep Hauley's 7.5kg Bruce in the anchor locker - just fits, and thus I don't need to hang the anchor on the bow roller.
In terms of pins - I thing you're going to struggle - but an enginners might be able to make you something.

At the moment my bitter end is secured to my bow cleat using a carbine hook. This is probably not ideal. I have noticed the "U" on the bow on the outside for attaching your towing strap, has bolts that go through into the anchor chain box. Do some people add something here to secure the bitter end to? Sorry I did not have time to take the anchor chain and rope out to take a picture from the inside.

I have attached a picture of another non Hardy boat with what I am referring to that is an upside down "U" which will go on the bow roller to hold the Bruce type anchor of mine down.
I currently just have a carbine hook(attached to the static chain near the cleat) about 3cm fron the end of the Bruce type anchor which rests in the anchor roller. This would be released in the event of using the anchor.

Hi Rob, on our stem head fitting we have two holes - one of which allows a direct straight thru' drop nosed pin to fit and another which doesn't line up with our anchor.
Any chance of drilling either the anchor or the stem head fitting so the holes line up? I bought a drop nose pin from Bosun Bobs mail order but think of a way to secure it as they vibrate loose and are not that cheap!
Otherwise have a look on a site called Just Stainless who do a lot of stainless parts and also make specifics I believe.

Hello
I have been trying everywhere for a nose pin for my bow roller that uses a 7.5kg Bruce type anchor to the extent I have nearly given up the search.
I am just hoping somene on here has an answer.
The solution is not as you might think as if I tried to put a nose pin from hole to hole on the bow roller, the anchor that goes across the bow roller at that point is about 10mm higher.
I need an upside down "U" shape.
Does anyone know a supplier for this please?
