Thanks Clive Very neat job, and well explained. All the best for the new season, Marie PS Might include this in the next edition.

* Hi Paul, I fitted an auxiliary leisure battery last Spring, and fitted the Blue Sea "Add-a-Battery" system to manage them. Good rugged marinised solution that seems to do the job nicely if you don't mind wiring a few beefy battery leads and buying a few extra bits like a common bus bar for the negative side, heavy duty fuse(s) depending on the specific installation, and a handful of terminals and battery wire. I bought a terminal crimper on ebay and sawed a trial crimped terminal in half to check it was all OK. Each battery installed in a separate box. The system always keeps the starter battery protected, even if you suck the living daylights out of the leisure/auxiliary battery running the coolbox, and all the electronics and lights! It charges both batteries when the engine is being used, and isolates both when the engine is not running, and crew enter refreshment mode. You can also if you find yourself with a gasping starter battery, combine both for starting should the need arise. Very happy with set-up so far! Hope you get sorted! Clive

Hi Paul. Give me a call - my number is on the southern marine surveys ad in the marine market place, or in the magazine - I have fitted exactly as you specify above as it would be worth chatting in the first instance to learn from some of my mistakes / refinements. All the best Simon.
