Many thanks for all that information. Vetus themselves cannot help, other than requiring a larger tunnel for a new thruster - this one is no longer made.
I'll have a look at MEC, & Ebay was a next port of call.

Hi David.
Have you spoken to MEC - the Vetus importer at Wargrave? And perhaps Vetus directly? They may be able to help?? Is is the gear bow that has corroded or the motor / controls? If its the motor then you should be able to find a DC motor overhaul specialist.
I note that "Side Power" make a bow thruster for 25' - 29' boats thats a little smaller - a 125mm I.D tube - so it may be worth talking to them about a possible retrofit.
Apart from that, it would be worth keeping an eye on Ebay and talking to the big Vetus dealers in case they have an unsold unit in stock - Bow thrusters are not bought from chandlers every day so some companies may have the odd unit on a shelf. Certainly start with MEC.

I have a Hardy 27 which needs a replacement bow thruster as above. Desperate need as ill-health forces me to sell this great boat and I couldn't sell without this item in operation. The old one has gone to heaven - corroded beyond redemption.
Problem - Vetus do not do a bow thruster now that fits the 132mm tunnel - their nearest is 150mm, necessitating, at cost, a new tunnel as well as a new thruster.
Has anyone any ideas on finding a second-hand, (or new in stock), bow thruster as described?
Any advice / offers much appreciated.
