Hi Ron, Sorry I have only just seen your post. Well they are available from a lot of fishing equipment suppliers, but I got mine from Mark II Angling. Marc (with a 'c') is our Hardy Owners Club magazine fishing correspondent, and I am sure that if you contact him and quote your membership number, he will help you out. His details are in the magazine which should be with you soon, but I will pass them on to you here: Mark II Angling 24-26 Crayford High Street Kent DA1 4HG 01322 55 45 45 williamsm933@aol.com www.mark2angling.co.uk All the best, Marie HOC Ed.

Hi Marie, Thanks for the response. I'll have a look at the Fox system next I think. I've just tried the Berkeley rod rest which is an excellent unit but there's not sufficient room at the side of the boat to mount it due to the canopy rail and canopy support slides. There's also a different bracket to fit onto the top of the boat side but this is too wide unfortunately so the Berkeley unit is going back to the shop when I'm in North Wales later on this coming week. Can I ask Marie Where you obtain the the Fox units from? Ron

Hi Ron, I also only have the GRP moulding to clamp on to on my old Pilot, but the Fox set up works pretty well over the reinforced edge of my boat. I usually place something over the rim, before attaching the clamp - no issues yet. I tend to fish off the port side and it works well. All the best, Marie HOC Ed.

If you don't fancy drilling. These are fine. Also used for stowing boat hooks on my Bosun. Rgds. M. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Boat-Pier-Rod-Rests-SENT-1ST-CLASS-POST-36inches-long-EACH-/290939011258?pt=UK_Power_Boats&var=&hash=item43bd5100ba#ht_223wt_1153

Hi. Two rod holders are fitted to the Pilot I've just acquired. They are like these on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Single-Boat-Fishing-Rod-Holders-Tubes-Fixing-Kit-/120682537437 They are attached at an angle each side of the engine well (engine side!). Haven't had the chance to try them yet, but they look as though they should do the job. Mike.

Thanks for the reply Simon I'll look at the other posting to see if it's of any help. I only really have the GRP moulding to clamp onto, not having a steel rail. I'm down in the New Forest in early September so I'll have the chance then to take a look at what's around in the Lymington area.

Hi Ron, There was another posting a few below this one about Rod holders.. it maybe of use.. http://www.hardy-owner.org.uk/forum.php?p=forum&a2=showposts&threadid=1371930137 I'm not sure of which ones to buy or where, I know ours came from the Chandlers in St Sampons, Guernesy - I guess have alook at the different types. We had a couple on a river pilot - she had a stainless rail on the engine well (for the dinghy) and the rod holders clamped on to the rail and thus avoided drilling more holes - I always avoid the drill if at all possible. Cheers Si.
