Job done. Original fibreglass was indeed thin and holed. Cleaned up and re-glassed the inner wall. Seemes to have done the trick.
Thank you.
Robert.

Check the anchor box for wear on the inner wall between the box and the cabin. On my Hardy 24, storing the anchor and chain over many years had scratched the fiberglass down to the wood which then had rotted allowing water to enter the cabin. Sea water usually enters the box in rough seas through the drainage hole at the bottom of the anchor box which is easily seen from the outside. If that is the problem you can either patch the exposed wood or cut out the section and replace. I did the former which is much easier. It is not a weight bearing structure and so just needs to be water tight and stable. Marine ply and resin to patch.
Hope this helps.

Having just bought a 1986 Family Pilot 20 in need of a little bit of TLC my first job was to replace the wood under the forward cabin floor which was rotten, however I have noticed a steady trickle of water entering the bow and coming into the cabin from a very small hole more or less level with the bottom of the anchor box. The box looks dry so where is it coming from? Can anyone advise, thank you. Robert.
