Hi Marwin, Aye good idea, it would be good to see your boat and if I can I could try and send one of our boat to you. Don't know very much about computers so it will be a bit of luck if I manage to send a picture. I think I was born too early to know all about computers. The kids nowadays seem to know everything before they are even out of their nappies. My e-mail address is:- bagrant18@googlemail.*** Look forward to hearing from you very much. Brian.

Hello Marwin, nice to hear from you again. Our boat is out of the water now for winter so will probably be getting on with the more mundane jobs now as long as the roads stay clear enough for us to get up there during the winter. The depth sounder/fishfinder which is black and white and was in the boat when we bought it will be replaced by a colour one - Garmin, like the radio and chartplotter I put in already. Cleaning and polishing and varnishing will be the more mundane jobs but will have to be done. As long as we are on the boat, afloat or onshore it does not matter it is always a pleasure to have the deck under our feet. It seems a long time till we get the boat in the water again but maybe if there is some good days we can take the small inflatable out and have some fun, see the seals and perhaps the dolphins off the coast where I live. Keep the keel wet and the deck dry.

Yeah, I mounted hydraulic steering instead og teleflex also. Much better! My system has electric hydraulic pump, so I was able to connect it to the chart plotter = autopilot. Big advantage when I´m alone and fishing :-)

Forgot to mention in my previous post that I had hydraulic steering fitted in place of the teleflex (is that what its called) and it makes a big improvement. Regards, Brian.

Thanks for your comments Marwin. We were up at the boat again for the last few days and the mechanic had fitted a smaller prop. When we took her out this time she got on the plane o.k. and managed 20mph as shown on the chartplotter/G.P.S. Quite happy with her performance now, only need the engine to run on air and all would be perfect. Dominic and Nicola, hope you read this and followed our humble progress in our wonderful wee boat. Regards to all. Brian and Ann.

With only 60 Hp and 2-3 persons onboard, you will have trouble getting in planning without (adjustable) trimplan (flaps) I think. On flat water.... You can try a lighter prop. And trimplans will help also. I always use the trimplans on acceleration, to avoid too steep trim angel. and getting faster in planning.

The 60 h.p. engine I mentioned earlier was fitted to "Tay Venture" and was taken out for a trial run by the mechanic. He did get up on the plane but it took a while. Ann and I with the two dogs went up at the start of the week to take the boat out along with the mechanic but this time it would not get on the plane. Maybe the extra bodies this time made a difference. We will try a smaller pitch propeller to see if that helps. Leaving Findhorn and the boat to come back home is not a good feeling but we hope to get back up very shortly so tune in for the next thrilling instalment.
