HI Simon, thanks for your idea of the key hole plate. I contacted Marinescene and ordered the 3 step ladder by email on Sunday evening and was delivered on Tuesday afternoon. I have since fixed the plates and the whole thing works very well. Thanks to you my wife and I can board safely again. As I am a new boy to Hardy boats and intend to do some work on her over the winter I shall be using the Forum a lot. Cornish Pete

Two Peter Cox's, now, that is going to become confusing. I can only hope there's just one of me - the world doesn't need a Second. Peter Cox with the F20 - Welcome. Peter Cox of Hertford (It has a ring to it) - thanks for pointing this out - I thought for a while you'd decided to "Fill the Garage" as they say. Best Regards Simon.

Now seems to be two of us with the same name. To avoid confusion, I'm the one with the Hardy 32 'Hertford', not the one who first posted on here.

Hi Peter. We've now upgraded to the Hardy 25 - and I need to look at the Boarding Ladder situation again - the side decks may give us some trouble (they don't run as far back as the cockpit on the Navigator - but the H25 they go around to the stern - I'll be looking at it this weekend. Davids solution above sounds like a good idea to me - it should be easy to make up. I have just found an off the shelf solution using "Key Hole Plates" on ebay from "marinescene". This is the Stainless ladder with "folding hook ends" and key hole plates for mounting onto a side deck - from £50 for the 3 step version - might be just whats needed. Beliow is the link - paste into your browser. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Marine-Grade-Stainless-Steel-Boarding-Ladder-Key-Hole-Plates-Black-Steps-SS9-/131599490902?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 Happy Hardy'ing Best Regards Simon.

I bought a fishing 20 last Oct. It came with a boarding ladder and a block of wood. The wood is 50mm thick, has two holes bored thro' it, which take the curved ends at the top of the ladder. The block is shaped to fit on the raised side deck, just aft of the aftermost scupper. It slides in from fwd to aft. It can be used either to port or to stbd. The ladder is of aluminium, has 5 steps, and two standoffs which rotate flat when when the curved top ends are rotated flat for stowage. WARNING: I have never used the ladder in anger, so can't guarantee the safety of the system. I will try to visit the boat today and take some photos. regards David. M.S. Alice.

Hi, I have Just purchased a Hardy 20 Fisher and as both my wife and myself are in our mid seventies we are finding it difficult to board either over the side or stern. Can anyone help with ideas to the best type of ladder. We board from a rubber Dinghy onto a swinging mooring. Many thanks. Pete
