The catch is exactly the same as we use on sash and case windows to fix the counter checks l dont bother with a stainless steel one either a brass on or a sheridized one an just pop rivet it on use a small drill to drill out the old one then a bigger drill the size of the rivet to clear it out ,it will last for a while

Hi,
1992 Hardy Fishing 20
One of the latches / locks that secures the fore-cabin hatch down has broken and I need to replace it. The item is in stainless steel and secures by a ball being screwed / held down into a curved U shaped bracket. What is this called please and where can I find one? I have spent ages looking on the web without success! Many thanks again in advance.
Kind regards, Keith

Keith,
Not sure I can help but we had the main door lock go on our Hardy 25 and my wife found a chandler in Norfolk that had a stock of old locks of our Hardy's era. They were extremely helpful, so if you email them a picture or give them a description they may be able to help with the fore hatch fastening. The name is Norfolk Marine (Chandlers) Ltd. Tel. 01603 78150 Email sales@norfolkmarine.co.uk If you have no luck email me at mwilliams126@btinternet.com and I can ask our boatyard. It is a very old established business, so they may know. We have the same on our 1992 Hardy b25, so they can always go on board to see exactly what you mean.
Mike

Four years ago I bought a brass one, chrome plated, from my local ironmonger.
