l teak oiled the tiller on the hardy ms teak oil is a stain as well an abrasive on your skin and will lift the top layer off if you don't wear gloves....yes l did l used danish oil on this boat smells nice and doesnt come up shiny and cheep looking as the varnish will ,destroys the look of wood in a boat in my opinion just rub it in with a cloth or sponge you can scratch it with sand paper first as the oil will cover it just knocked down my sons house and rebuilt a 2 storey house in is place and we used oak facings skirtings and open plan stair all danish oiled looks nice not a very good pic but it will restore the colour http://i967.photobucket.com/albums/ae160/peterboo2/cin.jpg

Hello, I am renovating a recently purchased Hardy Fishing 20. Please can you advise how the teak hand, and rope-fender supporting (gunwale) rails, and the apparently oak-faced plywood, cabin doors might best be finished after sanding. An obvious choice is marine varnish, but someone mentioned a teak oil (?) to me, and perhaps one of the Decs products might be more suitable for the doors. Many thanks in advance for any help. Keith
