Hi Kathy......As you say that the boat is in a "sorry state" I would have thought that a Marine Surveyor would be your best bet. I think that the difference is a separate bulkhead between the cabin & cockpit the surveyor should pick this up. He could then asses & give a value...Obviously it would be worth more if it was on the water & able to be shown as seaworthy. A good scrub/wash & polish transforms many a sad looking boat....But a good survey would be required before launch to at least check the sea cocks/leg seal etc....Steve

Trying to find out as much as I can about the Hardy 25. We have a 1987 model here at our boatyard, who's owner has sadly died. We need to try and value the boat for his family. She was supplied by Bob spalding in 1987. Serial no. 1374. She has a petrol Volvo AQ151b engine and Volvo 290 leg. I have been advised by Hardy marine that there were 2 types of Hardy 25, one for river use and one for sea, can anyone tell me more about how to tell which one is which? The boat has been with us since 2003, stored ashore and is now in a sorry state as no-one has been near her since then. Any info, estimates of value etc would be gratefully received. Kathy
