I have just fitted a tiller to my Navigator! Can I help?

Hi there, can anyone help me with this query - i have a Hardy Pilot with a Suzuki 15hp 2 stroke outboard engine. How do i fit a Tiller extension to the Steering - when the Tiller is down in the water it won't come high enough to come over the Transom. Thanks, Alec
