We are interested in a Hardy 20 Fish second hand currently for sale in the Netherlands. Could anyone be so kind, if possible, to provide us with some information regarding this boat? We would like to know if someone can provide us with some building plan/blue print of the boat. Furthermore the biminitop and saloon table are missing. Is it possible to buy these items new of second hand and if so where and at what costs? We discovered something looking like a valve at both sides of the boat just above the waterline. Can anyone tell us what this is and if it's replaceable in case of a defect? We are going for a second inspection this Thursday, therefore we would really appreciate any reply before Thursday. Many thanks in advance. Maikel & Mirjam Kivits Den Helder, the Netherlands

Hi The outlets above the water line could be the drain for the sink, and outlet for a bilge pump. The cockpit canopy could be made to measure no problem by a local cover manufacturer. Suffolk Trimmers in the uK made the orignal Hardy covers and would likely have an off the shelf cover for the fishing 20. A locally made to measure one would be better though. If you contacted Hardy Marine they may have a spare table top, but it would be easy to make one out of teak faced ply or something like that. In my experience pretty much everything on the smaller Hardy's can be replaced with common gear out of a chandlers. A professional survey would be a good idea including a good check of the engine. A larger one ( about 75 Max for this boat) would be required to get good planing performance with a normal load and a couple of crew. Trim tabs make a big difference on Hardy's also. If you look through some old posts on here you will get some useful info or if you have any further questions post a reply. Cheers Andy
