Hi Kerry Thanks for the info. I was looking at a 7 inch Lowrance but reckoned it was too bulky. I see you have a 5 inch which I think is more suitable for the Pilot. I was interested in Lowrance as I was thinking of getting a Navionics chart for the Shannon (Ireland) and Lough Erne (N. Ireland). It's interesting that you say that the NauticPath chart is based on Navionics. Maybe it includes these cruising areas which would save me 100 quid or so. Cheers Andy

Hi Andy. We've got a Lowrance 3500c mounted on the top surface of the bulhead immediately in front of the helm and offset slightly to the starboard corner. In that position it doesn't obstruct vision and you have the display right in front of your eyes for 'blind' navigation if that's necessary. It came with Nauticpath charts for the whole of Western Europe included (based on Navionics but without the posh bits - Lowrance apparently bought the company?). I haven't even a tiny criticism of the unit and it was excellent value. Hope this helps. Kerry

I'm currently looking at plotters and fishfinders for my Pilot. I'd like a big screen but think that a 7 inch might be to big a unit for the helm area. I'm also thinking of dual plotter/fishfinder for convenience, but think that the plotter area will be too small. I was looking at a 7 inch Lowrance but think that I would have to mount it to the wheel house roof as it is so bulky. Can anyone give any feedback on where they have sited their electronics on the Pilot, what size screens they have and if a combo unit is worthwhile? Any feedback on particular models would be welcome. I am looking at Navionics format to take advantage of the Shannon Erne charts in Ireland. I like the look of the Raymarine A60 Cheers Andy
