Thanks for input. Have just purchased a Hardy from Angus Geddes. Here's hoping for a good year in 2008.

Talking of trailers for Hardy Pilot..... I need one, but only in good nick. I would also be interested in buying a bigger engine to replace my existing 45hp Honda 4-stroke outboard, which in my opinion is inadequate for the vessel. Or, like Trevor, I could be interested in buying a recent Hardy complete with big outboard and trailer. My 1994 Hardy would then be available for sale. Based in Bristol Floating Harbour. Hi Trevor. Is this a repeat advice request from some months ago? Anyway, my advice is decide how many people you want to take on average and then go from there. Also make your engine choice carefully. If its 4 max people (I mean max) the Family Pilot (up to 1994-ish) or the later Pilot SE will take some beating. If you have the money try the Bosun (updated Pilot)but the looks are not to everybody's taste compared with the more traditional lines of earlier trailable Hardys. Get a big engine for the Solent. Personally I would be looking at outboards variants but the 105hp inboard may be worth a shot (its noisy!) 60hp outboard or above recommended. We use a 75hp 4 stroke and its good for most situations. Trailable Hardys basically encompass the motor sailors, Regattas, Navigators and Pilots. In my opinion the perfect choice for the Random Solent sojourn Best Dominic.

Have cash and want Hardy but I dont know which one is best. Its just for trips in Chichester Harbour and occasionally the Solent. Must have reasonable trailer so that I can winter at home. Will start looking seriously at End of October or early November. If you have one for sale with trailer Email me. Collection distance no problem providing the trailer is up to the job.
