Sorry David but I sold the Swiftech radio about six months ago. Suggest you try to find instructions on the internet. Here is a link which mentions the subject and may be of help ? - webmaster http://www.boatersdream.com/thread.cfm?threadID=173

Hi Roy, I think you will find that you need a breaked trailer no matter what your towing vehicle is. Over 750KG and it must be breaked and yours will be I am sure. I purchased my Fishing 17 with a 50HP Yamaha on a breakback trailer only to find that it was only just legal provided you put nothing in the boat! as this will tip it over the 750KG limit. I tow with a Land Rover and it stil has to be breaked by law unfortunatly.

Roy We bought our Fishing 17 outfit new with an unbraked trailer. I think that the allowed weight in this case really depends on the weight of the tow vehicle. It will give the unbraked max in your car manual. I have a Renault Scenic which when towing feels just about ok with the fishing 17. Also remember that qty and distribution of gear will affect the towing characteristics. I also think that the unbraked trailer is a bonus for having to do less maintenance. There is a later thread on the the Fishing 17 on this board that gives lots of useful info on weights, prop pitches etc. Let us know how you get on. Good luck Andy

I have just purchased a Hardy Fishing 17. The boat is equipped with a Swiftech M-168 radio, but there is no manual for it. Swiftech have gone bust and I cannot locate a manual anywhere. Can anyone help? The boat is on an unbraked trailer. Given the combined weight of the boat and trailer, should this be braked to be legal? For info. The boat has an Evinrude 50HP 2 stroke outboard and is currently in Newquay. I shall be moving it to Newton Abbot.
